About Mario M. Kranjac

Mayor Mario M. Kranjac, the son of immigrants and a New Jersey native, has dedicated his life to the service of others both in the public sector as a civil servant and in the private sector as a devoted husband, father, attorney and venture capitalist.

Kranjac was elected Mayor of Englewood Cliffs, NJ in November, 2016 as a political outsider  (unseating father and son Democrats who were Mayors for 42 years).  He continues his profession of corporate attorney and venture capitalist. As Mayor, Kranjac is committed to improving Englewood Cliffs through his focus on reinstituting the rule of law, fighting corruption, re-establishing “home”, improving public infrastructure, and lowering government spending and taxes.

Kranjac has succeeded in eliminating corruption within the leadership of the town’s police department and has taken steps to cut frivolous spending in all areas of government. He has also fought against New Jersey’s corrupt, inefficient and expensive affordable housing policies that cost Englewood Cliffs’ taxpayers millions of dollars.  Kranjac believes that creating affordable housing for one segment of the population should not mean reducing the home values of everyone else or creating windfall profits for politicians and their friends.  Indeed, all residents of New Jersey would see their property taxes drop significantly if politicians and their friends were defunded.

As Mayor, Kranjac strives to make the town an optimal place for businesses to thrive. In recent years, LG Electronics built its North American headquarters to Englewood Cliffs, due to its business-friendly environment. CNBC, NBC Universal, Unilever and Ferrari North America have also chosen to call Englewood Cliffs home for these same reasons.

As a father of three accomplished adult children, Kranjac is driven to promote policies that make it easier to raise a family, from lowering taxes for every resident to investing in recreation facilities. Moreover, from his own experience as a political outsider, Kranjac has championed the cause for making local government more transparent so every citizen can follow their government’s actions and know exactly what their tax dollars are spent on.

Kranjac’s time in the private sector has emboldened his belief in the power of the free market, private enterprise, and the importance of small businesses. Throughout his career, he has seen that if given the resources and optimal environment, businesses of any size can create high-value jobs and improve their community.

Kranjac is a graduate of Fordham University and Fordham University Law School. Prior to founding the law firm of Kranjac, Tripodi & Partners LLP, Kranjac was a partner at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis.  He focuses his legal services on serving businesses in domestic and international markets and venture capital. Kranjac is admitted to practice law in the States of New Jersey and New York and has passed the CPA Exam.

In 2016, Kranjac co-founded Dynamk Capital, a venture capital firm that focuses on life sciences tools, technologies and services giving entrepreneurial biotechnology and life science companies the resources they need to succeed by bringing their life-saving technologies to everyone worldwide. He currently serves as the company’s general counsel.
